Snow Whispers from God

February 28, 2015 By Mary Hill 9 Comments

Sweet cold winds and beauty in the afternoon sun on a snowy day brings Holy whispers to my spirit.

Sweet cold winds and white beauty along a creek bank illuminated by the morning sun on a snowy day brings Holy whispers to my spirit.

The snow glistened in the early morning. Lightly, gently weaving its way to the ground. I could almost taste the coolness on my tongue.

The snow’s visit was momentary and gone by noon, except in the shadows where the warmth of the suns rays did not reach.   The sweet coldness and quiet of the stream brought a song to my heart of gratitude for God’s love.

I lifted my arms and spun, singing in my mind:

“Lord, your wonders fill my mind and stretch beyond my limited imagination.

I seek daily understanding and resolve to draw nearer. Stretching to reach your hand that is before me in wonder and awe.

Your invitation is so real in my heart. It is an invitation of love and fulfillment. Joy passed all imagination.

I just need to stretch and reach for your will in my life.

I invite others on my journey. Help me Lord to create a place that pulls them in and makes them yearn for you.

Oh, my Lord, I want others to hunger for you and yearn for you. I want them to stretch to you and meet you in places of beauty and solitude.”

I stop my spinning and look up and see the beauty of your creation.

All is well with my soul. My winter visit with my Savior lingers in mind as I savor His love in my heart.

Job 10:12
Thou hast granted me life and favour, and thy visitation hath preserved my spirit.

Psalms 8:4
What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?

Luke 1:78
Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us.

Job 39:26
Doth the hawk fly by thy wisdom, and stretch her wings toward the south?

Thank you for sharing my special winter moment. We had such a quick snow fall this year. I actually snapped the picture above in February 2014 when we had even more snow fall. My husband took me for an afternoon drive because he knows I love capturing pictures like these. I was looking for a special picture to inspire a winter poem of love to Christ using the prompt words invitation or imagine from Two Shoes Tuesday, stretch from Holly Mueller’s Spiritual Journey Thursday, and visit from Kate Motaung’s Five Minute Friday linkup.

I am so joining Fringe Fridays because I spend my #FringeHours blogging about hope, love, and compassion. I want to spread  a message that points all to the one I love above all, my Savior Jesus Christ. He is the reason I breathe. He is the reason I live.  My desire is all accept Him. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. He is the faithful, true giver of compassion.

I’m amazed by how you can pull several focuses together for various link-ups and put them all together in a meaningful way. Loved this: “My winter visit with my Savior lingers in mind as I savor His love in my heart.” Beautiful post!

In this post you turned the dreariness of winter in to a mystical experience of worship and praise! I will think of you and this the next time I find myself out wondering in the chilly winter weather. He is to be found everywhere and in every situation, we only have to open our hearts to His love to feel the wrath that flows!
