The hardest part about my day is…
Night time
I am totally a morning person. My cat, Perry, insists on it. Every morning at a little before 6 a.m. I have my own personal alarm clock: nibbles on my toes from Perry, saying he is hungry feed me. I get up feed him. He takes two bites and promptly gets back into bed with my husband. Oh well, I start blogging and fix myself breakfast. Blogging has helped me deal with my morning stiffness and pain from arthritis and fibromylgia to a great degree. It gives me something to look forward too.
I am not a night person, however. Sleep does not come easy because I can’t shut down my thoughts. Then there is the pain of my illnesses that starts creeping in around midnight and builds up. I sit up a lot in the living room until about 1 a.m., sometimes I blog too or sometimes I read. I hate not being able to go to sleep despite taking sleeping aid and my prescription pain medication. Right now, my left knee is being a bugger. I had it replaced and how does it thank me? It swells on top of the knee and hurts to walk on 24/7.
Pain is great though in away. On Tuesday, my doctor told me to stay of my feet and keep them propped up until the imflammation went away. I need a bell though so I can take full advantage of the situation. I am still momma, but my daughter is helping me out some, and I have turned my husband into a maid. He so sweet, though. He helps pick up the house and brings me the basket of laundry to fold.
Let’s face it though. Is there any woman out there who can stay off her feet and not work on the housework or give attention to her children or husband? Let’s not forget Perry. He wants played with and cuddled and loved. Plus, there is my Italian Chihuahua, Lily She is part Chihuahua part Pomeranian, but she looks mostly Chihuahua. We have three dogs outside and beautiful house full of parakeets and rabbbits. I love helping with them too.
I have so many reasons to just work through the pain and play, love, and cuddle. A gorgeous husband, sweet daughter, and a home zoo. I guess I am blessed, but a night is still my worse time of day. What is yours?

The theme is Quotes so I scoured the Internet. Here are a few:
“Some days you’re the dog; some days you’re the hydrant.”

“My dog is worried about the economy because Alpo is up to 99 cents a
can. That’s almost $7.00 in dog money.”

I enjoyed your quotes. Thanks for joining us for Friendship Friday!
I also have fibro. Mornings are the most challenging part of the day for me. But, nights bring challenges of their own!
Have a great weekend – it’s almost time to inspire and be inspired! 🙂

That sounds difficult – I’m glad you have some strategies in place. I hope your pain lessens soon.
Yes, I have a supportive family.
Oh it must be so hard to sleep with the pain in your knee! And of course it is very difficult for a mom to remain sitting down – nobody knows where their socks are without us right? I hope you can find a balance with the pain med that will let you get some rest soon!
Thanks. I will. Just needs to heal up.
You are inspiring! I can only imagine how challenging it is to live, and sleep, when you are dealing with chronic pain. I am envious that you are a morning person- I wish I was!
I’m the opposite – not a morning person at all. I’m sorry you’re in such pain, but I’m glad your family is lending you a hand!
So sorry for your pain I have to have shots in my shoulders every six months as my shoulders and arms are so painful I can’t raise my arms. But as I always think there is always someone worse off than me. I hope your knee feels better soon and your sleep pattern gets back to normal.
Yvonne.
Those quotes are funny. You have a nice Cat and sorry about the pain but at least you got some rest.
So true. Thanks
So true! Anyone with a family and/or pet and/or home to take care of can absolutely not stay off of their feet. Even if ordered to by the doctor!
My doctor is forever telling me to put my feet up during the day. I broke my leg a few years ago and ended up with R.S.D. My one ankle swells and can be painful at times. I find it hard during the day to get my feet up as I’m always busy doing something.
Have a great Friday and weekend!
So true about women (specifically wives and mothers) who can’t stay off their feet. I was put on bed-rest with my second pregnancy and remembered asking my doctor, how I am suppose to this? I did it, but still the compulsion to help everyone and do it all was so hard to fight. Sorry for the tangent, but totally agree with you on that. Thanks as always Mary for linking up with us and have a great weekend!!! 🙂
