Remembering The Angels of Sandy Hook Elementary

December 14, 2013 By Mary Hill 1 Comment

By Mary Hill

God’s Love spreads through our land.
Healing the hurts of a past December day.
Little children and adult heroes gone in minutes but their memories always linger
In the hearts of a nation who will never forget their smiles.

I have read many tributes to these beautiful children and the adult heroes in the last week.  One of the most memorable ones I found at:
http://www.odysseynetworks.org/news/2013/12/06/happy-are-those-whose-help-is-the-god-of-jesse-psalm-1465-10

A beautiful memorial performance in honor of the victims.
Happy are Those Whose Help is the God of Jesse (Psalm 146:5-10)

If you want to take time to make a difference in honor of these angels, I encourage you to order these special bells. A link to the site is available at  http://mysandyhookfamily.org/. I purchased one for 9.95 which included shipment.  The proceeds go to rebuilding playgrounds that were destroyed by Hurricane Sandy throughout Connecticut. Twenty six of the playgrounds are actually named for the victims and heroes like Vicki Soto who shielded her students from the gunman and died for them.

The special website also includes links to each of the victim’s stories and other foundations established in their honor. The links are in the heart on the site. Each name in the heart will link you to the other sites.

This song was written in honor of the victims for another initiative the Charlotte Bacon available for download at the http://www.newtownkindness.org/ site.  Proceeds will go to the foundations programs.

I have explored many of the links on http://mysandyhookfamily.org/ . The stories are so inspirational and what the families are doing to memorialize their lost loved ones will change your outlook forever. These families are so brave and are choosing love.  My prayers are with Newtown this morning. God Bless.
