Q is for Quitting is Not an Option

April 28, 2016 By Mary Hill 7 Comments

Quitting is Not An Option! Rebooting my weight loss adventure!

Quitting is not an option. I’m rebooting my weight loss adventure!

I faced some difficulty challenges in my life. Quitting tempted me, but somehow, I  knew I had to hold on.

My weight loss adventure last year took a back seat to injury and pain. I sidetracked and gave up. Now, however, I taking another shot at good health and losing weight.

I even tried to join Wendy Speakes’ 40 Day Sugar fast. I never got started.

I attempt exercising, but my back pain limits me.

Now, I know I have to come back and try again. My life depends on. I lost almost 40 pounds before, but gained most of it back.

Quitting is in the Past

To get back on track, I need to forgive myself for letting go of my goals and dreams. I feel like such a failure, but in Christ, I do not find condemnation only love. When you struggle with an issue, pray for strength from the one who can make all your goals become reality.

Next, I need to devise a new plan with more realistic goals. I can’t loose weight and keep it off without a long-term plan.

I need to fast intermittently and exercise at least 15 minutes daily.

I will attempt my first seven day fast beginning Monday. I want to eat fewer than 1,000 calories and then return to sensible diet in three-week increments. I think if I use a diet for two weeks and take one week off to eat healthy foods I love. I can’t binge for a week on junk and expect to make progress.

I need to arm myself with an arsenal of support resources this post featuring “Top 7 Bible Verses to Help Lose Weight.” One of my favorite versus focuses on encouraging Christians to remember:

1 Corinthians 10:31 “Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”

I also recall the verse that really encourages.

Philippians 4:13  I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

What areas in your life do you struggle with? I will pray with you if you pray for me too. Please leave any requests for prayer in the comments box even if you just write the word “prayer.” I will pray for you.

I hope this song encourages you.

This post is for the letter Q in the 2016 A to Z Blogging Challenge. Learn more about it here.

I will also join several of the hops listed on my Link-up Parties page.

Mary, I’m also in a place like you. I lost 40 lbs before and gained most of it back. It seems every time I start exercising again I end up getting sick or hurting my back. I’m going to start back slowly and try to work up. I think you are right about needing a long term plan in order to stick with it and have lasting results. Let’s encourage each other. 🙂 Blessings to you!

    You go girl! I am recovering from injury and swimming was a great way for me to exercise without pain! I also lost weight from cutting out gluten not that that was my goal but due to other health issues I decided to cut grain out of my diet for the most part. I now also try to cut out dairy and sugar and replace them with healthier replacements like almond milk for example and honey! I feel so much better! Now if I could only get myself to like salads lol cooked veggies is as close as I can get (;

Mary, I am in the exact same place as you in every way – weight, pain, frustration. But most of all, like you, I know that Christ loves me and will get me through. I just want to say that I have shied away from any so-called “diets”. If you can find an eating lifestyle that works for you, then go for that. It may take longer to lose the weight but your chances of keeping it off are far greater because you won’t go off the “diet”, it becomes your way of life. Also, for your exercise, if you can only do 10 minutes one day then don’t be hard on yourself. I was just told this one and it is very true. Who knows, maybe the next day you will knock out 20 minutes!
