5.
What is your favorite book that takes place at a school or academy? To date my favorite book set in a school or academy is Lisa Scottoline’s Save Me. In this book the heroine, Rose McKenna, is a volunteer at her elementary school when a massive explosion sends fire and flames ripping through the hallways from the school cafeteria. In the chaos, Rose finds herself in a terrible dilemma. She can’t find her daughter, but other children need rescuing. She sends the children out of the school as quickly as she can but minutes are ticking and still no sign of her own daughter. She thinks she has cleared her area when she rushes into the cafeteria looking for her daughter who is trapped. She able to save her, but another girl is badly hurt in the fire and everyone blames Rose. Can she find out the truth about what caused the fire and really happened during it to save herself and her family from greater tragedies. This book is suspenseful and sad and will bring out a range of emotions as you read it.
6. On a cold and damp day which character would you like to have cuddled up beside you? So many characters through the years, this question is so tough. I really don’t know and will have to ponder it for a while.
7. What is your favorite fall activity. We love visiting a farm for hayrides and their annual corn maze. Plus, we pick pumpkins and jump hay bales.
8. I do not like horror at all as a genre, but I did like an early 1980s movie, The Changeling, and I like Christian author, Frank Peretti’s Piercing the Darkness. I want to read his book, The Monster. Peretti has been described as the Dean Koontz of Christian authors.
9. What is your favorite music to listen too. I really listen to a wide variety from Christian contemporary and Southern Gospel to folk rock like Philip Phillips Gone.
10. What books do you remember reading in school that were required reading: Faulkner, Shakespeare, and Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby.
11. Which book releases are you looking forward to this autumn?
Irene Hannon’s Trapped.
