My Vivid Memory of a Proud Moment

May 31, 2013 By Mary Hill 30 Comments

Day 31, Friday: A vivid memory

I don’t think I will ever have as vivid a memory as I had just yesterday afternoon when I watched my child and her best friend perform for their school talent show.  My head swelled and my heart filled with pride. Enough said. I will let you see for yourself.

Finish the Sentence Friday Now for this week’s sentence to finish: “My favorite movie of all time is…”

Titanic

Since my daughter is also the star of today’s blog entry, one of her all time favorite movies (based on how many times she watched it over, and over again everyday for months until our dvd copy wore out) is …..

She went around for months saying “Do you speak whale?”

Time to join my other Friday favorite blog hops:

I saw Titanic with my best friend, who apparently had no idea what she was in for with the movie. When she lets Jack go, my friend burst into tears and sobs. It made me laugh only because she’d been so, “what’s the big deal with this movie?” until we saw it.

That is so funny, but I am glad your friend ended up enjoying the movie. I cried too.

My daughter was so sweet at three. She had watched it on the vcr and then dvd. “Can you speak whale?” She went up to a person at church and asked them that. I almost died of laughter.

Wow, they did a really good job. I wish I could carry a tune – nope. I saw Titanic twice in one week when it came out, but I haven’t seen it since, most likely because of the length. Great movie! Can’t wait for the next Nemo (Dori) to come out! My kids are psyched!

I bet you had to control the urge to tell the ones seated near you, ‘that’s my daughter’. 🙂 that’s how I always feel when my son plays the violin during his recitals.

It’s wonderful to see children display their talents. My daughter use to dance well and even went on TV. THAT WAS A LONG TIME AGO.

    Hi Mary,
Congratulations to your daughter & her friend =– well done! Perfect timing for me to visit your blog & watch the Titanic clip — my husband and I are choreographing a new dance piece and are seriously considering setting it to this music, using Christian lyrics I have written. I believe seeing the clip again is God encouraging us in that direction!

I can see why you are proud! I just watched my six year old perform her hip-hop dance routine for her recital yesterday…the kids are still at an age where it is mostly “cute” and not quite so “impressive.” I bet it will be fun to watch my girls perform as they get older! Great take on FTSF- thanks for linking up!

I enjoyed both Titanic (saw it 2 times in the movie theatre alone) and Finding Nemo (my kids adore this one, too). And truly loved the talent show performance of your daughter, as well (she has a beautiful voice). And thank you for linking up with us again and hope you have a great weekend now, too!! 🙂

Who better to boast about than your children. Your daughter quoting Finding Nemo sounds so cute. You must’ve been glowing at that talent show. Titanic is a classic and enjoy your weekend.

I must confess I am not really a Titanic fan…but Nemo…well I love that! Have watched it many times and never get bored of Dory and Bruce the shark!

Great to meet you today-thanks so much for stopping by to visit. I’m following you now and look forward to keeping up with all your news.

Would rather watch Nemo, than Titanic – I hate to cry, spent all day yesterday doing that, not pretty!

Must be quite spectacular to watch your daughter perform, a true proud parent moment.

I remember watching Titanic in the movie theater and sobbing like a fool at the end. Hubby kept telling me to came down, LOL
