My Praise Report: 10 Things of Thankful and More

I feel like the rabbit in the Disney movie, Alice in Wonderland. “I’m late for a very important date!”  I have to get this up quick before Lizzie shuts down the hop.  

I have had a busy, busy weekend.

1. First it was love-filled weekend, starting Friday night with my daughter and husband attending a father, daughter dance. I crashed the party to take these pictures.

2.  Then, I slept late Saturday because of pain. I didn’t go to bed until 2 a.m. and got up at 9 a.m.  I was so glad it was a Saturday and I had the luxury to sleep late after being up most of the night.
3. Late morning, we headed for Greenville and bought my daughter a pageant dress for $90.  Trust me, in pageant terms, we scored. Most dresses range from $250 to $1,000.  I don’t like pageants for pageants sake. I am a feminist at heart. I only want my daughter to participate in our local Cancer Society Relay for Life Pageants. Her school is having a pageant in March and then the community will have another one in either late March or April.
4.  My daughter is just beautiful and so, so talented. She received an invitation to the National Junior Beta Club. I am so proud of her.
5. She made the A Honor Roll this week too.
6.  KR made me cry with her essay that she wrote for her pageant application. She had to write five paragraphs on what she would do to be a hero to a cancer patient.  Among the things she wrote was taking the patient on a special trip and being there so that the patient will have a friend to rely on during the tough times like when they have to go through chemotheraphy.
7.  KR will be home with me tomorrow. I am taking her to the doctor. She has developed a cough and has a sore throat. I don’t like her being sick, but I will make sure we have special times together tomorrow.
8.  Monday, I hope to launch a prayer and praise hop. So please stop back by in the morning. I will try to get it up before I have to take her to the doctor, but if not, I will postpone until next Monday. Check back tomorrow though please. In the meantime, pray for KR. Thanks.
9. God was so good today at our church. We had Friend Sunday, and the church filled to capacity.  A special group performed and 11 people were saved! I served as altar working for one of the salvation decisions.  A woman gave her heart to the Lord. 
10. Finally, it looks like we are in for another round of the wintry weather here in South Carolina.  I went out and picked up my bread and milk this afternoon. The action starts Tuesday after midnight. All kidding aside, I checked the weather, and the last forecast called for three days of snow, sleet, ice, and then snow showers early Thursday morning.
The predicted snow is the main reason I am keeping Katie Rose home from school and taking her to the doctor tomorrow. The last time a major snow hit, the doctor offices in our county closed for days. This time, they could close until Thursday.  I want to make sure she isn’t trying to develop strep throat, and she has medicine if the snow keeps us house bound til the end of the week. 

I am really looking forward to the time with my daughter. I hope we just get another beautiful snow and no ice.

Well, I need to post this asap. I will close with a pretty song the group performed for their finale today. This is a performance by the lead singer in 2009 that I found on You Tube. I hope you enjoy.
