My New Stack! Great New Reads!

I really had a productive week last week, reading. My blogging slowed down because I was recovering from surgery and complications. While I was down, I got to read more; so, I made a lot of progress and have added some great reads to my book stack . I will also post several reviews in the next few days so get ready. 🙂

Here is what is on my Kindle:

I ordered this for my Kindle when Janine Huldie of Confessions of a Mommyaholic posted a plea on her blog to help them to sell enough copies so that the book will make the Amazon bestseller list. I bought my e-copy .99 cents. I read through several of the stories this weekend. If you want to laugh and cry at the same time, this book is the one for you. I need to get a bladder control pad on before reading more of this book because I laughed so hard that I literally peed on myself. Just warning you if you have uh, cough, that kind of issue. You will laugh til your guts hurts. 🙂 Here’s what arrived in the mail:

  I just started this great finale installment of the Alice McKinley series by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor. Alice is off to college. If you have read the series, you have seen her grow up and go through all kinds of changes and challenges.

Wow, 28 books. I have read four of them. It doesn’t matter, though, if you haven’t read any, everyone of these books stand on their own as unique stories. Has anyone read the whole series or any of the books? Let me know in your comments.  I am going to enjoy this one. I want to thank writing couple Cheryl and Mel Hodde for sending me this gem. I met them virtually when reading Debbie’s WFBC Media Center blog. Impressed with the plot line of the novel and the writers’ personal romance story, I wrote in a comment on her blog that I was a new book review blogger, and that I would love to review their books. Debbie emailed me and hooked me up with the authors and this book arrived in the mail recently. I am so excited to review this book. I love their romantic story of how they met and started their partnership as Hannah Alexander, their combined pen name.  Their pastor set them up on a blind date. The first question that she blurted when she discovered that Mel was a doctor was how can you temporarily paralyze someone? The started discussing ideas and plot lines and wed 18 months later. Their partnership as Hannah Alexander led them to write their first love inspired novel, Hideaway Home, which won them the Christy Award for Best Romance in 2004.   I received this book this weekend thanks to a giveaway hosted  Ramona with Create With Joy.
