My Monday Mommy Goals

July 15, 2013 By Mary Hill 9 Comments

http://www.fantasticallyaverage.com/p/5-for-five.html

  1. Write poetry for the Creative Mondays and Inspire Me with Joy blog hops. (I will do this below). My ultimate goal is to write my first complete book of poetry. My poems that I feature on my blog are my first draft.
  2. Explore publishing venues for my poems and submit at least one poem to a literary magazine.
  3. Work toward growing my blog audience and also work on an ultimate blogging plan and mission.
  4. Spend time with family and create a family exercise program.
  5. Continue working on my creative writing projects which includes a novel in progress.

Progress toward last week’s goals:

  • Progress towards goals 1 and 2: I worked on my poem about the eternity of motherhood even more from the first draft which appeared on my post last week. I signed up for Tweetspeak Poetry and followed their Twitter and Pinterest accounts. I also am signed up for Poets and Writers. If you have not signed up for these resources, I would make it a goal to this week. They are wonderful resources. I also continued to work on my chapter’s outline for my novel in progress. Overall, I made great progress on 1, 2, and 5.
  • I also made progress on No. 3. I found some more great directories of blog hops.
  • I still have a lot to do on No. 4.  We had such a busy week that I didn’t even get to make progress on it.
My new goals for next week:

1.  Work on poems to submit to some of the contests listed on Poets and Writers website database.
2.  Develop my own blog hop directory that will have up-to-date links on great hops to join. If you want me to include your hop or linky then you can include a link in comments. Keep in mind that this will take me a few weeks to finalize.
3. Continue to work on growing my readership.  Here are some great resources to help me and you to accomplish this:

  • http://www.problogger.net/archives/2013/07/13/help-my-baby-is-sick-and-someone-is-stealing-my-money/
4.   Continue to work on family exercise plan.  Hey, we hiked a little last week to see the opening of the floodgates at our regional dam.  We walked the dogs up town too, so that is two days I spent toward achieving that goal.

5.  Schedule my knee therapy sessions as well as take care of medicine issues impacted by my insurance while trying to keep my sanity in dealing with my insurance company.

6.  Continue to work with my daughter on encouraging reading and preparation for the next school year. We are behind on this goal because of family issues that have taken my attention away from this goal.  We just have five weeks until the new school year. Summer has flown!

What are your mommy goals? What inspiration can you share with us today?  Please link up with the following great hops. I will definitely follow back anyone who comments today. I want to share ideas and grow as blogger and mom. Thanks for your support!

my mommy goal is simple…get dressed before lunch. lol. I love poetry, but answer me this…when we write poetry that rhymes, when it’s translated to another language, does it still rhyme? And do they make words rhyme in a foreign language? So do they have a word that rhymes with orange? heehee…just a thought. time to get dressed.

Interesting question. I tried ot look up rhymed Frenh poems. I don’t know much French so I am not sure of the sounds of words and what rhymes or not. I know that when they put the English translated poems beside the opoem they did not rhyme.

What a great idea to write down specific goals. I happen to have a kid-free morning at home today and am using it to meet some of my writing goals as well. But the goal I’ve spent the most time working towards lately is the goal of teaching my children to have God’s heart toward the nations. So, I just completed a post about resources for teaching missions in the home. 🙂 Thanks for sharing at Mommy Mondays!
