I have only blogged for such a short time. I probably have less than 75 blogs to choose from. I started blogging a little in February of this year, but I really got serious in March and April. I especially enjoyed April because of the A to Z Challenge.

4. M is for Memorial, N is for New, and O is For Overcome
Hopes and dreams of running and overcoming
Peace and love walk hand in hand down an avenue
Their thoughts are sad and musing
They know the calamity Hate is about to bring.
Life full of promise, smiles and bright eyes.
He skips or runs, who knows what the little boy would do
The morn of his father’s marathon?
He more than likely had a chest bursting with pride and excitement.
His name, Martin.
Another Martin begged for peace so many years ago.
Inspired by Ghandi, he wanted to lead his people to a new day.
Vietnam, war and poverty stepped in the way.
Now, it is hate and terror holding us back and at bay.
But this little boy’s spirit, another Martin, cannot be silenced.
Holding a simple sign for a school project.
A sign that says it all: “No more hurting people. Peace.”
Tomorrow let’s embrace his message and hang signs across America.
A sign like his. Hold hands with Love and Peace Begin anew.
New days are dawing.
A Poetical Lament
Yellow and black patterns of stripes and dots
They flutter in the wind to their own melodies
Travel far and over seas and lands
The beautiful monarch silently disappears into history
