My Bookshelf Stack this Week

September 16, 2013 By Mary Hill 5 Comments

By Mary Hill
I am behind this week because I was in the emergency room at 2 a.m. Sunday scared I was having a heart attack. More details on my blog at:

 http://mary-anderingcreatively.blogspot.com /2013/09/blogtember-public-love-letter.html
I may be running behind, but I am not thwarted. I am going to read this week and I am nearing the finish line, excuse the pun, on Chasing Hope.

Also in my stack this week are two advanced reading copies that I received in the mail: Confessions of a So-called Middle Child by Maria T. Lennon and Now I’ll Tell You Everything by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor. It has been like Christmas around here. I also just finished:  Adelaide and the Battle of the Bands by Tyler Scott Hess.

My thoughts so far on Battle of the Bands and Chasing Hope.

These two stories are about perseverance and chasing our dreams while at the same time keeping our focus on Jesus and His hopes and dreams for us.  What if we think we know the hopes and dreams Jesus has for us, but somehow, we were off the mark?

I so identify with Sabrina Rice in Chasing Hope. She was so sure of God’s plans for her life to only have illness seem to wipe them away.  She is not a better than life character. She is just like me. “Why God? Why?”  That is where I am at too.

I can’t wait until I find out what happens next.

These are my library books taking back shelf for the time being while I read my review copies.

My review goals for the rest of the week:  Review, Battle of the Bands, Tuesday and finish Chasing Hope, and post a review by Thursday. Wish me luck. 😉

Here are the hops I am following for the beginning of the week:
