This week is a time for renewal in the curves.

Time for family fun and love.

Right now my little one is on a roller coaster.

She is laughing and screaming with joy.

Life is so short and full of curves

Full of ups and downs.

The secret is to enjoy every moment

Even the times when that is the last thing

We want to do.

Maybe the secret is storing up the laughter, the light,

the fun in a little time capsule

To withdraw from when the loses come.

Then we can survive the deadliest curves and steepest

falls looking back at those moments we cherish.

Below is the song that best fits this week’s theme. Enjoy!

Some thoughts from vacation for the following hops:

Two Shoes Tuesday,

Tuesdays with a Twist;

Tea Party Tuesdays,

You’re Going to Love it Tuesdays

and Tuesday’s Tunes.

This is a great little piece on the prompt! It is so true, and full of imagery. Thanks.

Hi Mary! What a lovely sentiment in your reflection today. I wish we could save up the light, but maybe that’s what our memories are. Love the pictures of family! Living in the moment is what it’s all about, and your little one is showing you that big time!

    Happy Wednesday!

great take on the prompt. and so true: the roller coaster is perfect imagery for life. Most of us can hold on during the ups and downs, a sudden curve could be a pause for relief; or, it could completely through you off too. But I like the idea of it being a brief pause to appreciate the good stuff.

Josie Two Shoes has left a new comment on your post “Life in the Curves and the Ups and Downs”:

Hi Mary! This was a perfect take on the TST prompt this week! I so agree with your philosophy, I often tell people to “make good memories”, they are indeed the little lights that sustain us in dark times! I also love your note on “deadly curves” because yes, life has plenty of those too, but if we hang on tight to each other we can make it thru! I hope you are having a wonderful time with family this week, those are indeed curves of laughter and joy spinning round you! Thanks for taking time out to join in at TST this week, I appreciate you!

No problem, you put it back just as I wrote it! I’ve done that very same thing before, it’s so easy to hit the wrong button. I am so glad you’re doing TST with us, the sharing with each other is what makes it fun!

The roller coaster is an excellent metaphor for life. I generally would think of it in terms of ups and downs, but the really interesting part (on both roller coasters and in life) is in the curves. (I’m using writer’s license a bit here. I HATE roller coasters. Come to think of it, I’m also one of those people who is willing to give up the high highs to smooth out the lows.)
