10 Things Thankful About Several Blog Hops

 

I have participated in lots of blog hops over the course of my two years blogging, including the popular 10 Things Thankful  for which this post is being written. These hops are carefully chosen. They range in size from just a few people to more than hundreds linking up each week. We know blog hops are a great way to grow your readership, but to me, they are much more. These link ups have become my virtual community.

I love the big and small hops such as the Thursday hop at Holly Mueller’s called Spiritual Journey. Only about 10 to 12 of us link up weekly, but this hop is special because we are a tight knit community. Each week, we come together to focus on a word provided by host Holly, ususally. Lately the words are provided by all of us.

Every one of us decided on one little word for the New Year, and for the first weeks of the New Year, each of us is sharing our ideas on each one’s little word. It was  Michelle Haseltine’s  turn this week and her One Little Word was  FLY. This coming Thursday, the special word is brought to you by Leigh Anne Eck  and is TURN. I hope you will consider joining us and write about what Turn means to you.

As a blogger, I have the opportunity to fly every week as I get to know communities all over the blogosphere. I read so many inspirational posts, and they lift me up and give me hope. Our world is full of light of the Holy Spirit and Jesus.

Another great, but small, hop I participate in is Texas Two Shoes Tuesdays hop. Each week she also provides two weekly words on which to write an original post, either creative story or poem. I love the interaction and comments I get each week from this group. Our host, Lizzie, sometimes join this hop too! This week’s coming words are:  opposite and own.

I haven’t been able to participate in hops as much I want lately because I am working on establishing my own hop with two other great bloggers, Tami from This Moms Delight  and Ashley from Circling the Story. (I know this is a shameless plug. 🙂  ) Do you read great books and post reviews or write about fun family literacy actitivies? Or maybe you homeschool and have ideas to share about teaching reading? Or you are a public school teacher who loves to share ideas from your classroom?  My hop, Literacy Musing Mondays,  begins on Sundays and runs through Fridays. We have more than 20 bloggers linking up posts since its beginning less than two months ago. It is growing every week. I am so thankful to all those who participate each week. I love the range of posts linked up each week.
