The week has flown by and it is time again for Lisa Jo Baker’s Five Minute Friday Writing Party. I have been on Twitter tonight at #fmfparty talking to all the women who plan to write their five minutes on a single word. This week’s word: fly. After we write, we are going to link up at Lisa Jo’s and share our inspired posts. We have one golden rule at this party, visit the posts before and after us to share encouragement.
Today’s word: Fly

Flying is something I used to dream about. In third grade, I dreamt I could fly and no one could catch me. I haven’t dreamed about flying in a long time. I used to dream about flying and then falling through the sky only to wake with a thud when I actually hit the ground.
Instead of dreaming; now, I love to watch birds fly in my backyard. We put out a feeder for them. I love watching them fly in and land on the feeder to eat. They come by the dozens some mornings.
I envy those birds sometimes. Their feathered bodies are so free and God takes such good care of them and provides their needs. He knows when a little sparrow falls to the ground. They fly free and high above the ground, unfettered it seems. I wish I could transform into a beautiful bird and fly high above God’s creation, taking it all in. I wish I could fly to heaven and stay forever.
I know one day I will fly away with Jesus, but until then I read His Word for inspiration to fly and to take giant leaps of faith.

This is lovely, Ann! I have often said if I could be anything, I would want to be a bird. Many hours of enjoyment have been had watching them come to the feeder, and reading about how God provides for them, and how much more he cares for us. Thank you for this encouraging and heartwarming post. I’m visiting from Thursday Favorite Things Blog Hop.
Hi Mary!
I need to pause and watch birds. I love the insights you get from them. They do seem to awaken in us a freedom.
Thanks for sharing this!!
