Welcome into my heart as I write about finding safety and love in my home that has become a haven for me. I join the Five Minute Friday community my second home where you also can find acceptance and love as hundreds of women open their hearts to your words.
Kate Motaung has challenged us to write for five minutes on the word Haven this week.

Finding Safety in My Beautiful Haven

I sit in the early morning with sunlight streaming through the windows, listening to the birds singing. I hear the whirl of the ceiling fan. With each cool stroke and sounds of sweet breathing wafting down the hallway from our bedrooms, I am reminded how home is a haven of safety and love.
A haven for love and peace; a haven for security. A place to grow, live and love all my days.
I remember the sweet hugs and kisses of my little daughter now a teen as she grew. I remember her tiny fingers, her beautiful eyes gazing into mine.
My husband throaty laughter sounds resonates in my memory as well. He loves me with sweetness and purity.
The memories, laughter, and joy that fill my mind as I recall all the special occasions of love: birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, and parties held just because we desired to celebrate each other.
All these feelings, memories, sounds, and smells forge feelings of safety and love.
I feel safest in my husbands warm embrace; when I hug my daughter; laugh with my grandchildren; and scamper and hopscotch on my front lawn.
Sweet whispers, sweet kisses. Safety and love: a haven of home and life.
God has blessed me with a haven of rest. He lives here with me in my home, my heart, and my loves.
Lord, I love the house where you live, the place where your glory dwells.” Psalm 26:8

Lovely! When God’s desires for the family take place, home is a haven.

How beautiful that you have created a haven with your family where love and peace reigns. May the Holy Spirit continue to bless you as you bless others.
My home is often my haven too. Visiting from FMF where I’m in the 8 spot this week.
I love the line – safety in my husband’s arms. There is something so strong about a woman who can admit that the need the arms of another around them to feel safe. To know how you are made and to be okay with that. Thank you for sharing.
Just lovely!
Isn’t this the truth. Home whether home with my family now or home with my extended family. It is truly a haven. PTL!
