Giving Thanks and Sharing More Inspiration

Ten Things of Thankful
1. Okay, if you are a return reader to my blog you will notice some big changes, thanks to Iris from Charming Blog Design and The Bluebird House, I have a beautiful new blog design.  I am so excited. I have plans for an official celebration in the works. Let me know if you want to join in.

2.  Speaking of birdhouses, we had new baby parakeets come out of their nesting box today. The population is growing because we still have about four more hatchlings in the nest growing.  Plus the mommies are busy still laying eggs everyday. We have more than 18 parakeets now.

  3.  My friend, Sheena-kay Graham at QueendSheena, gave me my third blog award. It is great timing and just puts the icing on the cake so to speak for my great week.

4.  My oldest daughter earned her driver’s license back this week. During the past two years, she journeyed from a really tragic situation where she lost almost everything.  Her story is inspirational and shows the real depth of God’s grace.  I want her to narrate it for my readers when she is ready.

5.  We had a simple but sweet birthday celebration for my husband Wednesday.  He turned 52 this week.

6.  I studied scripture and took special time with God this week thanks to great blogs such as  Mocha With Linda. I really need to add a page of great Bible study and spiritual building blogs.  These blogs touch me, and I often have my Bible with me as I read their inspirational messages.

7.  I enjoyed spending the afternoon with my daughter watching a movie from Red Box. I didn’t like the movie so  much, The Host.  I still got to spend time with her and that is time I cherish.
8.  I have a great pile of books to read from the library and on my Kindle.

9.  A wonderful home which we are fixing up slowly. Years have passed, and there is still lots of work to complete. It is still home even with the rough edges.

10.  Another day to be thankful and these hops to share. God bless and have a great Sunday of worship and love.

What are you thankful for?  Join this wonderful blog hop today and share. Participating really brings a new love for life and deep sense of contentment. Go ahead today and count your blessings.

I LOVE THE NEW LOOK! The cursor is the icing on the beauty.

Our house has plenty of work left for us to do, too. Slowly but surely, we’re plugging along on it.

    Happy birthday to your husband!

Whether your daughter decides to share or not, I’m glad she has made it through to the other, brighter side. God’s grace is a blessing for which we should always be shouting our thanks.

Thank you for always being such a great supporter of our blog hop, and for linking up such wonderful lists each week.

Thanks so much for linking up to the Mommy Monday Blog Hop! This particular post caught my eye because of the birds! I had a yellow parakeet when I was little named Brittanica. My brother had one too named Joey. Seeing these birds reminded me of how Joey diet. Brittanica tried to save him but she couldn’t and it was very sad when we lost him. New follower of yours and I look forward to reading some more of your posts. Love the blog design by the way. I’ll keep your designer in my for if and when I’m ready to do a blog lift πŸ™‚

Congratulations to your daughter, and to you, too! I hope that your daughter will be ready to share her story sometime; I think it is so helpful to read stories of overcoming challenges/adversities in life–those stories give hope to others. My daughter gave permission for me to tell part of her story in this post: http://www.thankfulme.net/2012/12/thursday-thoughts-reactive-attachment.html

I hope it serves as encouragement to others who might be having struggles with their children. I can imagine the relief you must be feeling now that your daughter’s journey is traveling in a different direction.

So glad things are looking up for your daughter. I’m slightly curious about The Host, but not so much I’ve watched it yet.

I found it drawn out and hard to follow the talking in the girl’s head. It moved slowly and did not have much action. My son-in-lawa said it was the worst movie. My tween daughter liked the romance in it. She like it but she is only 10. My eldest was at work and did not watch it yet. Anyway thanks for connecting. πŸ™‚

18 parakeets, with more on the way?! Will you keep them all?

    Happy Sunday!

Dyanne, We will be giving some if not all the babies away. I think we will keep the mostly white one though. She or He is adorable and beautiful. Thanks for commenting.

This list had such a peaceful feeling about it Mary, many good things, close to the heart! I hope your daughter will share her story with us some day, I know quite well the miracles God can and does work in lives! πŸ™‚ Our house is also a work in progress, and we may never live to see it and the yard all done up, but it is home and we love our little patch of weeds out in the country. There is nothing quite as pretty as sitting under a canopy of stars and moon on a dark summer night! I love the new look of your blog… so pretty! Congrats on the great design! I have a new pair of shoes coming to mine soon, can’t wait to show them off!

MARY, MARY, MARY! My cursor turned into a ROSE!

Wow! I love your new look – SO pretty πŸ™‚ Very well done. What a lovely thing to be thankful for.

I’m glad the baby parakeets are doing well – it’s nice to see pictures.

Congratulations to your daughter on getting her licence back. I’m sure it’s in no small part due to your support and encouragement – sounds like she had a tough break, whatever it was. Good for her for persevering.

Enjoy your lovely books and Sunday, and thanks so much for linking in again this week πŸ™‚
