Every Friday at 12:01 a.m., Lisa Jo issues a five minute writing challenge at her blog at http://lisajobaker.com/. You can tackle the challenge anytime on Friday, but you have to write for five minutes on a particular topic without any prewriting, review, or editing or backtracking. Then after you complete the challenge, you link up your post on her site. The golden rule, you have to visit the person’s blog in front of yours and after yours and comment on the writing, giving positive feedback. Also you can follow their blog or GFC them if you like (this is not a requirement, but something nice to do to grow your community of readers and friends. 🙂 )
Okay this weeks prompt: Present
Go:
Our present is such a brief period of time
Each second ticks away quickly.
How do we take advantage of our present and use it to its fullest?
Yesterday is a memory and tomorrow seems to never come
The Present is a friend and foe walking beside us trying us and
Taunting us or encouraging us and forcing us to act and think.
It is like water being released from a dam into old streams and rivers
The water gushes into the time flow forcing all else to the side
The pressure of decisions and fear of failure not an option
We have to move with the rushing water into our futures
Without knowing where the streams and rivers will take us.
Tomorrow is a mystery never solved
Only one person has the key and that is the essence of faith.
We have to believe that God has our tomorrows in His/Her hand
God directs us, leads us. God has a perfect will for us
That we shall prosper and find love in fulfillment in the Holy Trinity.
Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow are one in the same, a trinity of time spinning round and round
The Father, Son and Spirit direct us and fulfill us in love, mercy, and friendships that span a limitless ocean.

“If I could go back and do something over it would be…”
Nothing. My failures I learn from; my successes, I grow from; and my choices are my responsibility. I could say I would not have married my second husband. He was abusive, but there were reasons, deep and profound. He was sick. He died in 2003. I left him before he died. Some would say that our marriage was a failure, but I say it made me into who I am today. I learned compassion, forgiveness, and love. I will tell the whole story soon. I look at this past six month odyssey and I see a story unfolding: a story of me. When we learn to forgive others and ourselves, we create hope, love, and peace. If the world would just see this truth. It is the story of the Gospel. Jesus’s last words: “Father, forgive them, they know not what they do.”

We have had a lot of rain in the South. In South Carolina and Georgia, the Army Corp of Engineers opened flood gates at major dams this week to relieve massive ongoing flooding in the two states. My family and I went to witness this historic event in our region today. Here are some incredible pics:

To answer your question about the picture collages, I use http://www.picmonkey.com It’s free, you don’t need to set up an account, and it’s really user friendly. Much easier to deal with than photoshop! Good luck!
What you said about not doing things over is how I felt about a lot of the mistakes I made in college – guys I dated and things like that. I grew and learned so much from those situations even though they were difficult. Those pics of the dam are pretty cool. Stunning.
