Five MInute Friday: Not Ready, The Return

September 12, 2014 By Mary Hill 7 Comments

Friday brings with it the Five Minute Friday writing challenge hosted by Kate Motaug at her site. She provides inspiration in the form of one word. Then you write for five minutes non-stop, typing furiously. You don’t stop or backtrack. The beauty is that you put your words up in their rawness and freshness. Then you share your post with other bloggers who have accepted the challenge by linking up at Kate’s site.  One major rule you must not forget. You share your love by reading the blog before and after yours. Leave encouragement and geniune responses to their posts.

So this week’s Five Minute Friday prompt: ready.

Are you ready for the road ahead?

11:20

This summer went by quickly, ending with my daughter starting sixth grade. I was ready. She is growing up so fast. We were blessed because God gave us the resources to send her back to school with a new wardrobe because she had grown over 7 inches in a one year period.

I am ready for so many thing in life and then again I am not ready for other things. Kate wrote about losing her mother recently. I am not ready for that either. My mom is turning 69 this year. She is so beautiful and so full of God and joy. I know she is ready to go to Heaven when she is called home. It will be a moment of joy for her, but I am not ready to let her go.

Ready or not — our roads to travel spread out on the horizon and form a path to our futures. Will we overcome, will we find joy or despair? Our fates are in His hands.

He awaits me on the other side. My mother called me yesterday and told me that she was not ready to loose me. You might find that odd. She wants to go to Jesus first: a mother’s love. She still sees me as her infant and then little girl.

“You have to loose your weight before it kills you.”

My response, “I know.”  I am ready too, but I don’t have the tools or ability. Am I ready? I want to be here for my daughter and her children. I want to be her for my other grandchildren. I want to stay around for my husband.

Now I am ready for prayer and God’s help. He can see me through this. He can help me conquer this weight issue so I improve my health.

What trials are you ready to conquer? Are you ready to meet Jesus?  It is simple to accept Him by praying that He comes into your life and changes you from the inside out. He is ready for you. He is ready for me. He is waiting with miracles, love, and hope. Just reach out to Him.

Everyone has to go one day. Most people might be like what Loki said in Thor 2: “You will never be ready.” But we who chose to love God and trust in him can help make ourselves as ready as we can for when the time comes for us or our loved ones to pass on. Such a touching post Mary, you really wrote a fulfilling post with those five minutes.

Change is so hard, but I’m learning to look at it as an opportunity — just think where you might end up, even though the journey may be difficult. Saying a prayer for you as you embark on change!

Stopping over from FMF. He is ready to help, to “see you through.” Good to hear you are ready for a change. Go after it Mary!
