Five Minute Friday New Year: Fight!

January 3, 2014 By Mary Hill 4 Comments

Whew, I made it. I didn’t think I would because I sure missed my Five Minute Friday challenge. Here is a refresher on this great hop if you have not taken part before:
Rules:
1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. And then absolutely, no ifs, ands or buts about it, you need to visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments. Seriously. That is, like, the rule. And the fun. And the heart of this community..

Oh and Ahem, if you would take pity and turn off comment verification, it would make leaving some love on your post that much easier for folks!

OK, are you ready? Please give us your best five minutes on:::

Fight…

1:40 a.m. (G0)

The fight in me is almost gone. I left it behind somewhere. It is a new year, and I have to pick it back up, brush it off and go. Life gives us new chances everyday to start a new; to press on toward the mark and forget our pasts, flinging them away like old rags.

Jesus is the God of mercy and love. When we take our fight to Him, He picks up our banner and carries it for us. What are you fighting today?  Memories of mistakes and failures? Losses so deep they cut to the quick? Lay them at His feet that was nailed to the cross for you and me.

He loves me. He loves you. He died for me. He died for you. We have nothing to bring to Him, but He doesn’t care. He just wants us. We may be injured and beat up in the fights of life, but He will pick us up, clean us up, and put His armor on us; so that we can fight to spread His truth and His love. So bring yourself just as you are.

“Bring yourself just as you are.” This is so good. We don’t have to fight, because He fights for us. Stopped over from the 5MF today!

Amen! Jesus accomplished everything for us on the cross. God is so good!

I hopped over from Lisa-Jo’s place.

    Have a blessed day!

I understand when you say you feel the fight in you is almost gone. I’ve started praying for God to fire up that fight for living in me:) to rejuvenate me – and He will – for both of us!
