Fear Shall Not Prevail

March 1, 2015 By Mary Hill 3 Comments

The negative emotions involved with fear can hit you with a hot wind.

FilthyEvilAtrociousRepulsive                       Fear Acrostic: Failure, Exhaustion, Ashamed, Ruined

Fear’s arsenal is loaded with ugly emotions and worries. We face them everyday. We look them in the eye; our hearts beating and our minds reeling. These ugly darts aimed at our lives with such precision can pierce even the strongest minds.

God says we are not to let fear rule our lives.  In fact, there is only one thing we need to fear in life: Him.  The Bible states: the Devil or evil one walks about roaring like a lion seeking whom he may devour. He is the author of fear and confusion in our world.

We have our own arsenal provided by Christ to fend off his fiery darts of fear. We find the stockpile in Ephesians 6:14  the breastplate of righteousness, shield of faith, belt of truth, the helmet of salvation, and the Sword of the spirit.

I look in the mirror resolute. With Him, I know fear is gone. He is all I need. The days may get long; money worries may overwhelm; illness and pain creep in; but He is larger than all that.  I hide in His shadow; girded with His strength and armor.

I’m really loving the theme/design of your site. Do you ever run into any web
browser compatibility issues? A small number of my blog audience have complained about my website not working correctly in Explorer but looks great in Opera.
Do you have any tips to help fix this issue?

Are you facing your fears with writing? I get paralyzed sometimes or rather blocked by my own misgivings. I know that God’s light shines through in my creative writing, but I worry about honoring that light. I’m glad you are joining the SOL community. Lots of lights shining there!
