Four months into 2016 and New Year’s resolutions are long forgotten. We started the year with so many plans for improvement and resolutions. Now, we need to endeavor to energize our goals and plans for 2016.
A good way to start is to keep in mind this scripture:
What were your New Year’s Resolutions or that One Little Word that you selected? How did you want to serve the Lord? Have you lost your earnest zeal to endeavor toward achievement?
How do you recapture that endeavoring spirit and earnest zeal as the year moves forward?
Endeavor to Reset Goals for New Year
Find your last success in meeting your New Year’s resolutions and start over. Maybe you set as a goal to improve your health by losing 50 to as much as 100 pounds this year, but now you are off track. When did you last lose weight? How much? How did you meet your initial goal?
Return to that goal and redo it. You may have wanted to lose up to 30 pounds by now but have only lost 10. Do the math until the end of the year. Do you need to restate your goal: I want to lose 75 pounds now instead of 90. How many months do I have left now in 2016? I have about 10; so I need to loose about 7.5 pounds per month.
I want to write my book for the Lord, but only have one chapter done when I wanted to have more than half of my first draft done by this date. What is a reasonable goal for the rest of the year in relation to this resolution?

Now, you need to endeavor to move forward with even more zeal and confidence to fulfil the goals and plans you feel God wills for your life this year.
I have prepared a form below to help you with this planning. I hope you find it useful:

Question for comments: How are your New Year resolutions coming? Have you abandoned them? Or what successes have you experienced?

I will also join several of the hops listed on my Link-up Parties page.
What a great use of endeavor! I always try to set an intention word for the year, and it is good to look back on that from time to time to re-center. Thanks for stopping by my space 🙂
This is lovely and so very encouraging.
I sometimes think I need to lag in my goals and pursuits because it pushes my more to check in with God. When everything is going smoothly and “as planned” – I have to admit… I’m thankful to Him but I don’t check in as much… you know?
Thank you for sharing your heart here (and for linking up to the #SHINEbloghop).
Wishing you a lovely weekend.
