Blucy: A Creatively Purring Tale of a Special Cat

August 25, 2013 By Mary Hill 1 Comment

Blucy by Julia DweckBook Review By Mary Hill

I am so proud to enter the realm of book reviews.

I am so proud to enter the realm of book reviews.  As you know, I have dabbled in this before, but now will be offering more book reviews on a regular basis as well as participate in great book reveals and giveaway events.  I hope you will enjoy this new feature on my blog.
This review is my second official book review.  I was honored when author Julia Dweck approached me after I had got involved in the initial giveaway prize promotion of her latest book.

My Review:

Blucy is an original cat through and through; a beautiful cat with attitude. Blucy was first known as Lucy when she lived at the pound. One day a little girl named Mandy decided to take her home. Mandy loved her from the beginning although she noticed some major issues.  The most serious is that when Lucy became upset or emotional she started to turn blue. Next, Lucy doesn’t want to eat cat food and even becomes a bit finicky and misbehaved. She rips up curtains and presents and paints on the walls. She runs away and will not come home.  What is Mandy to do? First, she changes her name to Blucy and tries to find ways to accept and love her cat for who she really is. Read this delightful children’s book to discover more about the story of Mandy and Blucy. Will their friendship grow? Or will this end as a blue story?

I am still developing what I hope will be a neat rating system for my books review. In the meantime, I highly recommend Blucy because it’s simply a wonderful tale of friendship and love between a girl and her special cat.  What makes this book even more special are the wonderful illustrations by artist, Erika LeBarre. This is a not miss. At the end of the book, readers will find a bonus surprise too.

Disclaimer: I received an electronic copy of this book for the purpose of completing this review. I have not been compensated for it in any other way, and my review is my honest opinion.

PS, It is not too late to get in on the $100 Blucy give-a-way.  Click on this link for more details: http://mary-anderingcreatively.blogspot.com/p/summer-blast.html
