#AtoZChallenge: T is for Truth and Tribulation; U is for Understanding

April 24, 2014 By Mary Hill 4 Comments

By Mary Hill

My favorite Bible verse of all time is John 16:33.

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Jesus uttered the words to His disciples to prepare them for His Crucifixion.  He explained that although He was leaving them to return to His Father in Heaven, they would never be alone. His Holy Spirit or the Great Comforter would return and help them through problems and work in them His righteousness, love, and truth.

When you accept Christ and determine in your heart that you will follow Him; you will never be alone again. You don’t know what tribulations and troubles will come in your life; but you will have help, comfort, and peace. Christ will work in you through His Holy Spirit and create in you a new person that can better cope and make better decision. You will die to self and learn a new depth of love and understanding.

You will learn thankfulness even in the most desperate of situations because you will have an advocate that you can talk too and who will present you to God the Father as holy and free.

He beckons unto you: Accept Him and follow Him.  When you do, your life will change for ever.

I was thinking this morning about how much smoother my life is than it has been in the past, as I’ve matured and come to rely more upon my savior. There’s such a lightness.

This verse is exactly what my heart needed to hear today. Thank you for sharing. And for reminding us where we need to place our hope. 🙂

With Him by yourself, guiding you and being the ultimate source of support, life is much more enjoyable with fewer hard days.
