A to Z Blogging Challenge: P is Prayer and Q is for The Quiet

April 20, 2014 By Mary Hill 4 Comments

By Mary Hill

It was the quiet evening of the passing of our Lord after His great suffering.  The disciples hid themselves in fear that they would be hunted down as well.

Mary, mother of Jesus, lovingly tended her son, the Savior of Mankind. I can only imagine her grief as she thought she sealed Him in a tomb never to been seen again.  They adorned Him with spices and oils. His tomb was sealed and the quiet settled upon the earth.

Saturday passed as the Sabbath was honored. Then on Sunday morn, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb to find it empty. She ran to tell the disciples and Peter. Peter returned with her to the tomb to find it empty. Later, Christ appeared unto the disciples and showed his wounds to them.

He was risen! He dwelt with the disciples and continued to prepare them for His return to Heaven. He is there today with His father sitting on a throne waiting for the day that He can return to earth to collect His bride, the church, home to Heaven.

The Easter story is one of hope, love, and peace. I pray for all tonight that they find Christ and believe in the sacrifice He made for the world.

My prayer on this eve of Easter is for all to find the Truth, the Way, and the Light.  I pray that no matter your religion that you will take tomorrow and open your minds and hearts to Jesus. Call on His name and ask Him to show you the truth.

It is quiet in my home tonight. I reflect on my love for Christ. He truly is the reason I am where I am today. His love has seen me through so many trials and circumstances. He will come to all who seek Him. He loves all.
