Letter poetry. My favorite letters are M, T, R, S. The prompt for Day 13 of the OctPoWriMo is Random Word Play. Now the challenge is to mix it in with the 10 Things of Thankful. I will play around with this and see what happens.
Meters from home, miles from the heart of the matter
1. My medicine is slow to take effect as
I strive to recover from surgery.
Thankful that recovery like all things comes with time.
2. Time ticking slowly like the timbral of music
Playing in my mind. Talent of my daughter
As her music floats through my home.
3. She brings me relief with her sweet voice.
As she plays her piano and practices songs she has written herself. She brings me pride, love, and beauty.
4. A rhythm of sweetness and love
Thankfulness for family and my husband
Who patiently waits upon me as I recover.
I don’t have a bell, but I have his care.
5. The support of readers overflowing my page Friday
Although, I have not felt able to respond, I just want you to know all your 6. thoughtful comments and 7. prayers are appreciated.
8. Songs written and composed by my daughter that I recorded on my Kindle bring me joy tonight.

I know what it is to be so dependable on my husband for with Fm/CFS I am mostly house bound and often times I cannot even prepare dinner for him when he gets home from work. Then I realized the other day that our husbands are Jesus’ arms and heart to help us in our illness! Your daughter is so beautiful.

What a beautiful daughter you have in Katie Rose. It astounds me that someone so young can write and sing her own lovely songs.
I hope each day includes more healing and less pain as you recover. I’m sure it will go faster with your husband taking such good care of you.

Mary! I had no idea you’d been operated on! So sorry I’m just now finding out. I went back and read your Friday post. Your shoulder was probably sore as the doctors probably stretched up your arm to get to the gall bladder. They don’t handle you that gently when you’re under, that’s for sure. Am so glad you’re feeling somewhat better, and loved the way you presented your list. Oh, btw, your almost 10 year old daughter will be a boy killer when she gets older, but isn’t she a little young for a black nose and whiskers tattoo? lol Get Well!
She dresed as a panther for Halloween either last year or he year before. It is all flowing together now. She only dresssed that way for trick-or-treat that night. She wants to sing for pageants not be in them. The picture above was when she participated in our Relay for Life Cancer Society Pageant. She wanted to be in that one for the cause. Her grandfather and grandmother, my husband’s parents, died of cancer in the 1990s way before he and I met and married. She normally dresses like she does in her video picture. She is swee right now and thinks boys are sweaty and stinky. LOL.

Your daughter is so incredibly beautiful, and obviously has a gift for music too! I am delighted that your husband is a caretaker as is mine.
