Five Minute Friday: Ordinary
12:07 a.m.
Life was nothing but ordinary this week. Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. I reported to our small community hospital for surgery. My head filled with a dream shared by a friend, Josie who hosts the Two Shoes Tuesday blog hop. She narrated a dream of talking to a woman in a beautiful garden while in the midst of surgery. Her self discovery of not being so ordinary because she had handed her life over to God and tried not to make things happen. She turned to faith, and her life became extraordinary.
I wanted a dream in my surgery, but it went so quickly. I heard the nurses talking and laughing as the anesthesia was administered and my eyes closed. I don’t remember any dreams or flashes of insight. I remember waking up and thinking well that was quick.
I heard the nurse trying to wake me because I was in pain. My shoulder was hurting badly. They gave me pain medicine, and it decreased for a while. I couldn’t understand why I was in such pain when it was my gallbladder that had been removed nowhere near my shoulder. I stayed two hours in recovery.
“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
I have faith in God and His true church. I know they will step forward and help all those who innocent ones who are being hurt by the bull headed Congress and President who want agree on what is best for us.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I have read your comments. I had a rough day pain wise, but the doctors said it was normal. Should be on my feet Monday and will catch up commenting and sharing with my wonderful friends and followers. 🙂

Hi Mary! I am just now catching up on blog rounds following my surgery last week! Thank you so much for the nod and link-up to my story. Sadly, it was a bit of creative fiction, and like you I remember nothing from “lights out” to “wake up”. I woke with my back hurting, likely due to that flat unforgiving table and my old spine. My daughter, a nurse, also noted that many surgical patients find that their shoulders and necks will ache for a couple days following surgery due to the gases inside of you needing to be absorbed by the muscles and moving upward. She said that walking helps to alleviate this, so get up and walk I did that first day. 🙂 I am sorry that you are still dealing with some pain and I hope that it goes away quickly. I was lucky (blessed really) and was amazed to feel good enough to be back at work on Tuesday, just a bit sore for a few days. Soon you will also be back to normal and glad to be rid of that pesky gallbladder like I am! I have already noticed such a difference. I have been checking out some of the Random 5 Friday posts too, and am thinking that it looks like a fun one to give a try… maybe this coming week! I loved your, great stuff right down the line. Delighted that you’ve done away with that Google+ commenting. Google+ and me don’t get along at all, though I gave it a fair chance. 🙂 Hugs and healing thoughts coming your way!

I’m so glad that your surgery went well and hope the pain subsides for you soon! This is just a lovely post. Truly. I had pet rabbits as a kid! They’re so much fun! And yes, we do need hope. Praying that the WIC issues are resolved quickly.
You have seen some great things. I saw a boy asking for money to get home and gave it to him. While I’m not currently working I knew he needed it more than I did. I was at the library and could at least walk home. Forget about the dreams, you had a successful surgery and got home to your family. That’s what matters.
The fight against Obamacare saddnes me, in Jamaica the laws were changed ears ago to offer free medical care to those who needed it and despite the cost and even hospital complaints, it hasn’t been repealed. If we can do that, why does the United States have such a time accepting something that isn’t even completely free medical care. But I digress that the stalemate needs to stop so the country can go back to normal. According to The Today Show this morning Republicans are suffering worst approval ratings in the poles because most Americans blame them. But a good percentage blame Obama too, so no one is completely innocent. Anyway enjoy your weekend and your daughter looks beautiful in her costume.
