A Holiday of Thankfulness

November 24, 2013 By Mary Hill 8 Comments

Ten Things of Thankful

By Mary Hill

1.  I am thankful to Zoe at Zoe Rewritten for sending me a shiny new journal that I won in her contest! It was a fun contest to enter. Be sure to check our her future contests.:) Now the challenge is to fill it up with writings, ideas, and musings.

2.  I am thankful my mom is making a recovery from her hospital stay.  It turned out to be relatively minor issue, but she still stayed in the hospital for two days.

3. We attended a special holiday program today for our area Meals on Wheels.  We got to ride on an old fashioned hay ride with our grands and their mom our daughter, Stephanie. Great times.

4.  Tomorrow, we are having a special service at church. We get to dress in our our favorite team colors: either for Clemson or the Unversity of South Carolina. They play next weekend. This game is like our state’s Super Bowl.  Bragging rights are on the line. We will celebrate the big game too with a cookout after church.

5.  My youngest grandson turns 1 on Wednesday. He had a tough year with hospitalizations from not thriving the first few months. He still weighs under 15 pounds.

6. I could add today’s post to the Awww Cute Monday’s link up.  Lots of cute grans everywhere.  My husband and I are so blessed to have such a wonderful family.

7.  Two blog hop organizers picked me as a guest host this week.  First, Wednesday, I co-hosted at  Mommy Only Has Two Hands Hump Day Hop. I hope you will hop by and join the hop next Wedneday. It was lot of fun.

8. Then on Thursday, Katherine from Katherine’s Corner invited me to co-host the Thursday’s Favorite Thing hop. More than 200 posts were linked up on this hop. You should definitely put it on your weekly calendar.

9.  The Write Nonfiction in November challenge is almost over. I am enjoying writing, but I will have to have more than 30 days to complete my series on Parent Involvement in Education. I had so much more to share. I knew it was going to be a challenge to post everything I have written.  I am not even half way done with the book itself.

I am thankful that I will be able to work on it more and have another month to post about it in either March or April.  Two month-long challenges are set. In March, Dana with the Two Writing Teachers’ Slice of LIfe Tuesday link up has issued the Month-Long Slice of Life Story Challenge which I plan to join.  Then in April I will rejoin the Blogging from A to Z April Challenge.

10.  Another week to record my 10 Things of Thankful. God Bless and Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Also joining these hops:

Discover. Play. Build.     Amanda’s Books and More

What a sweet picture! Family is, indeed, the best reason to be thankful. I hope your one-year-old grandson doesn’t have any more trips to the hospital! Thank you for linking up with the Sunday Parenting Party!
