I love watching for birds on a cold January day, and I wanted to give my new camera a try. This is the picture that I captured this morning in my backyard.
The beautiful bird sat perched in the tree. I crept quietly to see its round stomach. I point this out because I keep my feeders full for these beautiful creatures that visit my yard everyday.
They don’t normally visit feeders, so I throw bird feed into my yard that includes bits of dehydrated berries. I need to get a berry tree for these birds. They are so beautiful and their call is sweet.
In the meantime, I spotted something brown hopping through the underbrush. I couldn’t get a picture of the small round creature because it scurried too quickly. I wonder if it was a small mouse or rabbit?
I was getting cold; so I headed back inside to reflect.
Now, I sit on my couch in my warm house. My skin does not provide much insulation. It is a wonder how God created these small creatures, and how they are able to endure cold temperatures. It is amazing how He cares about each small animal and provides for them.
I love this simple message this morning. I hope it inspires you to remember that God cares. I also hope you will consider helping Him provide for our small creatures this winter. A few dollars and simple feeder will keep God creatures healthy and round and also around to provide blessings and lots of happiness.
Ya, I was watching a video on the Weather Channel yesterday about asteroids and I was thinking about how lucky we are that we never get hit by many and how God must have made it that way, so that we don’t get harmed.
My house already has alot of berry trees in it’s yard, from it’s previous owners, so the birds get fed! : )

Thank you for sharing with us here at “Tell Me a Story.” We have birds that come every year and build their nests on our porch entry and over our door on another porch. It is so fun to watch them feed their babies!

I LOVE birds. Take so many photos. And so often think of them according to the Word. I just smile and smile and grin some more when driving or looking out the window or walking through the zoo or out in a park. Like some things; LOVE birds!! Hope there will be many in heaven with us. MANY!!
I have been enamored with birds since I was four. Thats a beautiful picture. Take more!
I suppose the feathers are great insulation but in addition I think their hearts beat much faster than ours and they have to be active all the time or else snuggled up in a nest. Sadly the death rate is probably high and only the most hardy survive. Having several chicks each year does keep up the population. When we say “Look our little feathered friend is back” it may well be one of the grown up chicks! Glad they are getting some help. Great post Mary.

I am delighted to have you sharing with us again at TST today, Mary! This story touched my heart, as I too love the birds and all God’s little creatures, and I feel for them as they struggle through the cold winter and shortened food supply. You are kind to put food out for them, we do the same. They do indeed brighten our lives and remind us of God’s loving care, thank you!

I love spotting birds on bare branches in the winter. What a beautiful blue sky to contrast the browns. I wonder how much of the cold the birds feel.
