This has been a favorite hop of mine since this summer and it seems to getting bigger and better every week. The rules are simple. At 9ish or so on Thursdays evenings, you meet up Lisa Jo Baker and a bunch of friends at #fmfparty on Twitter. We have a great time chatting about our week; and now at 10 p.m. Lisa Jo announces the topic for 5 Minute Friday. Then for five minutes you type like a banshee on the assigned topic, remembering there is not supposed to be any backtracking or correcting. Just pure typing of whatever comes to mind. You post your 5 Minute Friday on your blog then you go to lisajobaker.com to link up with other participants, remember to put the url for our post not your blog into the link form. I really enjoy meeting the ladies when I remember to make it to the party on time.
This week’s prompt is She.
11:00
She is beautiful with her braces and smile. She is the apple of my eye. I love her like no other: my daughter.
She is wise beyond her years. She gives me encouragement, but is not afraid to kick me in the butt when I give her buts about anything. She never takes no for an answer and will not take any slack. She loves me like a mother. Hard edges blurred by soft love and kind caresses. I don’t remember when I was her baby. I don’t remember her lullabies.
She is all but grown even though I still see the little kid in her. She smile and corrects me like I am the younger …. sister. How dare she. She thinks she is in charge. Let me tell you something, sis. We fought a lot as siblings, but let anyone try to hurt the other and we would pounce like bobcats and leave no skin unfazed.
She is gone. I remember her smile.”Is that your daughter? She is so pretty.” Yes, this is KR. I’d tell her for the fifth time. Her eyes dim with Alzheimer’s and her life a memory. I loved her, my grandmother and wished we had had more time.
I have had a lot of she’s in my life. They are so important: all part of who made me, me …. times up.

A babies cry, a sweet flowers glow
The rays of sunshine on my face
Love abounding like a hare in the snow
Rushing to a place
Of safety and haven from the predator
Giving chase

God rescues us from the captor
Taking us to safety
Giving us sanctuary and grace
We are comforted in our losses
We are comforted in our fear
We are encouraged and cheered
Love is a place of refuge
The Comforter comes in with a healing balm
Wiping away our tears of disgrace
Tending our wounds with sweet medicine
of hyssop and aloes
We are bounded together in our healing
Our refreshing and in our finding of comfort and grace

Wow, huge prayers to you. I am not sure from this post if your sweet baby furbaby needs prayers or you or? Sorry for being confused but I will just play it safe and pray for you and furbaby. Hope everything is okay…sigh. Hugs.
Thank you. Cocoa has gone to a better place without pain. I miss her, but it would have been selfish of me to let her continue with so much pain. Meantime, my surgery has not been set up. I will see the surgeon next week. I am just thankful it is not considered life threatening and is a minor thing to take care of.
Nice. I also have several “she”s in my life, and am so grateful for all of them. It’s amazing the influence of the women around us, eh?
Sending prayers for your hubby. Chin up. =)
Thank you. 🙂

Prayers in progress all around. You sure need them indeed.
Big healing hugs. 🙂
I wasn’t sure if you meant your tests or Cocoas, but either, please do keep us posted and praying that all is ok for you. Thanks for sharing and linking up.
Thank you. It has been a sad day. The doctor said there was no hope for recovery for Cocoa; so, she is gone to heaven with my father. I was leaving to take her when I got a call about my tests that I had done earlier this week. Seems, I have to have surgery. Nothing too serious though, I am told now. Just a little panic about all of it happening at the same time. My husband will not see the specialist until October. Just seems it is coming in waves. I am going to stay positive though. 🙂
