31 Days of Free Writes Day 1: Why

October 1, 2019 By Mary Hill 3 Comments

We ask why a lot in life, especially when trials and problems fiercely slap us in the face. We look to heaven and ask God, “Why does life trouble us? Why us? Why me?” We focus on the classic question of why bad things happen to good people.

Life is full of why’s. Why did I make that mistake? Why did I lose that job? Why did my loved one have to die?

Why creates a chance for us to whine. I think it is even more sinuous. It creates a chance in which unbelief and doubt creep.

What if we change our why’s to praise, to acceptance and real faith, and we acknowledge that God is in control of our past, present, and future? He is the author and finisher of our faith.
