- I am grateful for the start of a holiday weekend to spend with family and friend. We are listening to our football game on the radio at home tonight.
My niece, Christian, is getting married Sunday.
The whole family is coming together for a wonderful afternoon. My favorite memory of my niece involves going to Ruby Tuesdays for an aunt and niece day out. She was only 10. We made a mess out of cheese sticks. It was so bad, I felt obligated to leave a $10 tip to the waiter.- I am so thankful for the time I spent reading and writing this week.
- I launched a new feature on my blog: http://maryanderingamongthepages.blogspot.com/ I will feature book reviews and other literary ramblings. I actually set up a separate blog. I tried to just create pages of my book reviews but could not figure out the logistics of including it on Mary-andering Creatively without having to cut and paste over and over again. I would really appreciate any follows on GFC, Bloglovin’, Twitter, and Facebook. Thank you for your support.

My daughter and I were featured this week at Mother Daughter Son Book Reviews. Our review of Chasing Yesterday #1 Awakening by Robin Wasserman has been well received.
- As part of the review, I also got to reflect on why reading is so important to me as both a person and a mom. I would love it if you would take a look at the profile at: http://motherdaughterbookreviews.com/featured-guest-reviewer-mary-mary-andering-creatively/.
- My series for parents as their child’s first teachers is coming along. I want to have all parts completed so that I can announce a schedule.
- I am still working on poetry submissions. Have one out now, but have not heard anything. I am told it takes awhile. Meantime, I am finalizing other poems. I hope one day I can put links to published poems on my 10 Things of Thankful. If you know anywhere to submit poetry, let me know. It is not about money, but I want to be considered a professionally published poet. I am looking for professional opportunities and usually these pay.
- I had a little setback on my writing gig. Back to the drawing board. When my writing career comes together it is going to be in a way that honors God and helps me meet my family’s needs. I am grateful that God is in control of my writing. He knows what is best.
- Learning about blogging has been a joy. I went to a Bloggers Boot Camp this week at : https://www.facebook.com/HowTheyBlog It was a free workshop. I am still going through the materials and reviewing the video taped workshops. On an aside should I go with the normal or large fonts in my blog posts? I try to be consistent. I have vision issues so I don’t notice until I review that somehow my fonts are getting skewed. Any feedback welcome.
I hope all of my U.S. friends enjoy our Labor Day Holiday weekend. I am so thankful for the friendships and fellowship among my blogger communities. God Bless. π

I don’t know if this is what you are looking for, but I’ve had poems posted on this site for years:

I’m still loving the new look of your blog.
You get to go to a wedding! I haven’t been to one in a long time. I guess I’m in that limbo between all my friends and siblings getting married and all of our children getting married. I love a wedding. Wish I could just be a professional wedding guest.
Sounds like you are working hard with all of the writing and blog improvements. Good for you!
Another great list, Mary. Love how you incorporate so many things about your family!
very good list….very busy person!
congrats on the Book Review and having your efforts recognized by others! very cool.
Lovely list Mary. It sounds as though things are going really well for you with the poetry and books. Fab stuff.
I always try to look on the positive side. Life is to short to worry about little setbacks. At least that is what I tell myself: so remind me I said this when I spout off all frustrated. π
I love this idea a written list of things to be grateful for! I may have to borrow this idea, maybe even start a gratitude journal. Thanks for e inspiration
You are indeed a grateful person and it shows every single day. Not just with this meme.
Have a terrific day and long weekend. π
Great list, Mary. Glad to have connected with you and share thoughts on blogging!
