10 Thankful Things and Celebrating the Small Things during My Birthday Weekend

Ten Things of Thankful

1.  I have another hop that I have “rediscovered” that fits with the 10 Things of Thankful hop nicely. Another interesting tidbit the founders of these lovely hops are both from the UK. Celebrate the Small Things founder is Vik at the Scribblings of An Aspiring Author while Liz at Considerings initiated the 10 Things of Thankful Hop.  Did I mention that they are both writers like I am?

2.  Okay, folks it is my birthday this morning. I turned 47 at midnight, January 19.

3. My husband had a surprise party for me last night with my family.

4. Then my husband took me to Best Buy where I bought a great camera a Nikon D3100. This is a big thing. I can’t wait to set it up and use it this week.

5.  I am writing more now and starting to regain lost ground from the beginning of the year slump.

6.  My daughter is on the A honor role at school.  I love her so much and am so proud of her.  She is beautiful, talented, and so intelligent. We will spend tomorrow together because she is out of school for Martin Luther King Day.

7.  Did I mention my camera. I am going to have to take a picture of it with my Kindle and add it.  After church today, I am asking my mom to help me set it up. I once put her flash on her camera on backward when I was a teen so long ago.

8.  I am going to continue to work toward improvement of my writing and photography. I can’t wait until I can add a chapter to my novel in progress and photograph some winter scenes in my area.

9.  Celebrating drawing closer to God and reading more about him.

10.  Celebrating another new beginning as I start my 47th year.  I am so blessed to have such a great family and home.

I hope you enjoy this great Southern Gospel song. It really has a great message about how we truly are blessed.

Happy birthday and have fun with that fancy camera! Looking forward to seeing your work on here!
Congratulations to your daughter on her honor roll achievement. Kids have a lot to juggle these days, and it’s quite an accomplishment to keep up with everything and get such good grades.

Happy Birthday and congrats on your daughter making the honour role. It’s great that you’ve gotten a really good camera and are so happy about it. Aw, your husband helped with a surprise party, how sweet. And I know what it is like when a writing slump hits. So congrats on rising above it.

hApPY bIRthDaY! We are nearly the same age…I turned 47 last July. My daughter has the same Nikon camera you bought and she is turning out some pretty amazing pics! She did just spend a chunk of money on another lens! Warning…photography can be quite expensive.
